The editors look for well-written manuscripts that detail a flight, a portion of a flight, or some other aircraft incident from which a lesson was learned. Ideal lengths run 1,000 to 1,500 words. Payment is made for articles when they are accepted for publication.

The U.S. Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, a membership-based non-profit organization, promotes the safe enjoyment of hang gliding and paragliding. The magazine includes news and information about the association and its activities, as well as entertaining features on all aspects of free flight. Feature articles may be technical articles designed to help pilots improve their flying skills, or “entertainment” stories that convey the joy and wonders of free flight. First-person “flying adventure”-type stories are especially desired. Pays up to $150/article and up to $75 per photo.
